Traditionally a babymoon is a holiday that the parents spend with their new born. But more lately this has been changed to a holiday that the couples enjoy before having a baby. This is believed by many couples as their opportunity to relax and enjoy themselves before their sleepless nights start. Its also an opportunity for the couples to spend some quality time together doing all the fun stuff.
When to go
While most of the women like to go on this trip during their early second trimester, ideally between 18-26 weeks I would definitely suggest to speak to your doctor before you plan your trip!
Where to go
Cruises are usually the most popular babymoon destinations. There are heaps of activities that you can safely enjoy onboard and is also a great relaxing holiday. You can enjoy swimming, snorkeling, spa baths and massages, awesome lunches and shows etc.. but please check with your doctor before booking any of the holidays and the activities. Check our cruising experiences here.
Choose a resort or a cruise that offers appropriate prenatal massages or treatments and has relaxing spa baths.
It might sound crazy, but have you ever thought of a snow destination for babymooning? Yeap we tried it and it was wonderful.
While you can enjoy the lovely settings and scenes of the mother nature , you can also do activities like snow shoeing and it is also awesome for Pregnancy photos… but again please check with your doctor before you decide on destinations and activities.
What to take
The usual stuff to pack can be found here.. The packing list.
Your prenatal vitamin tablets and any other medication you need to take should be the first things to pack. Also do not forget to take along your medical/scan reports. If you have pregnancy routines like the yoga, make sure to pack the necessary stuff. Also do not forget to double check that your pregnancy diet is covered. Speak to your travel agent or your cruiseline staff beforehand about it.
Whatever destination you choose and whatever level of activities you decide on doing dont forget that this is your babymoon and chill-out and relax with your partner so that you are all set and prepared for the biggest and sweetest commitment of your life.
