Spring is here in Australia and the weather is much more warmer and beautiful now! And while talking about the weather the long weekend is almost here.
So if you are looking for last minute ideas on where you can go and what to do, here is a list of our favorite destinations in New South Wales.
Yeah there is still heaps of snow at Perisher Valley, we have been checking the snow report for you and thats where we are heading to! And there are some good off season deals too! Perisher does some great 7 days advance deals too. Check out here for deals on lift passes and for deals on accommodation
If skiing or snow boarding isn’t your thing, with the warmer weather and cheaper off-season accommodation this probably is the best time for sight-seeing! Checkout our post on what you can do and our gallery here.
If somewhere beachy is of interest to you, our favourite destination in the South Coast is Jervis Bay. Beautiful white sand beaches, arguably whitest sands in the world, great friendly locals, lovely cafes and a great place for activities and relaxation alike.
You can check out Dolphins and whales with our friends at Dolphin Watch Cruises while you are there or get a bit more adventurous and go diving or snorkeling with the Dive Jervis Bay and watch the friendly sting rays while Stand up paddling with Mel from Jervis Bay Stand Up Paddle or just take it all easy and enjoy the amazing sunrises at Point Perpendicular and go for a nice picnic to Whiting Beach in Booderee National Park.
Thinking Wine and Food?
This is where I am torn apart. My favourite destinations for food and wine in New South Wales is Mudgee and Hunter Valley. If you dont want to go too far or just want to do a day trip from Sydney then Hunter Valley is your best bet! But if you are willing to be a bit more adventurous and want to drive that extra few hours then head off to Mudgee.
If you are in the Hunter Valley region then make sure you taste the Merlot and the spicy grape sauce from the Moorebank guys! Ian and Debra from there are absolutely wonderful and knowledgeable and they will be more than happy to talk wines! This is where I got my 2 cents of knowledge from! Oh and did I say that I absolutely love their Merlots? Check out our Wine, Cheese and Chocolate trip to Hunter Valley It cant get any better!
And if you are looking for a good place to stay, here is a small list of our favorite boutique accommodations that we checked out and absolutely loved!
With so many choices around, and so many family friendly options get out of the doors this long weekend and leave a comment regarding your favorite hideout if we missed it! We will make sure we check it out in the near future!
